366TAS: 7:03 – Primal Scream – Loaded

If at first you don’t succeed, try again. That’s the story of “Loaded”, Primal Scream’s big breakthrough track back in 1990. You see, “Loaded” was really a “second draft” of the band’s “I’m Losing More Than I’ll Ever Have”, released the previous year on their eponymous second album. Remixed to include quips from Henry Fonda and Andie MacDowell as well as the drum loop from an Italian remix of Edie Brickell and the New Bohemians’ “What I Am” and Primal Scream frontman Bobby Gillespie singing a line from Robert Johnson’s “Terraplane Blues”, the song went from unremarkable track on a mediocre album to one of the band’s biggest hits.
