Ryan Adams (not to be confused with Bryan Adams of 90’s movie soundtrack infamy) is prolific, if nothing else. Since 2000, he’s put out a whopping 13 albums. None of these albums have been especially successful by traditional metrics, but most have reached the top 60 on the US album charts. He’s only received one album certification over the years, a gold certification in the UK for his 2001 album, appropriately titled Gold.
Unsurprisingly, Gold is Adams’ best selling album to date, moving upwards of 800,000 copies worldwide. Adams’ top single, “New York, New York” leads off the album, but today we’re going with the album’s penultimate track about a prostitute named Tina. It’s just that kind of day. Perhaps it’s also a good time to heed Liz Lemon’s advice about naming your daughters “Christina”:
