Over the course of the year, there have been stretches of particularly good music (like we’ve had the last two weeks and change) and pockets of songs that are fine and okay, but not especially compelling. A couple people have suggested to me that as the song lengths increase beyond the traditional purview of “radio length”, there will be quite a few of these “dead spots” in the list. That’s not true; there’s a lot more great music between 6:00 and 7:55 than most people would realize, and that segment of times will span the bulk of the year’s final quarter, starting a couple weeks from now.
In the meantime, this week is going to be a little on the weak side. Today’s other option was Foxy’s 1978 top ten hit, “Get Off”. Y’know, I could have gone either direction here, but wanted to give a nod to the folks at Loud Monkey Music. I think they’ll appreciate this.
