Stop me if you’ve heard this one before. Great song released in 2011 features a saxophone. Yep, it’s another one. That makes five songs that fit this description in the last month. Even more amazing, that barely scratches the surface of all the sax action that was happening last year. Rolling Stone put took notice of the “Year of the Sax” and assembled a list of the top ten pop songs from 2011 that featured some saxophone. Their list includes several artists you will not see featured here on Corsairs Affairs like Fleet Foxes, Bon Iver, Katy Perry and Lady Gaga, but it also includes many artists and songs that have been part of the countup, including Eleanor Friedberger’s “My Mistakes”, a track that was also a strong entry on the list of the 50 best songs from 2011 albums that didn’t crack my top 30.
