366TAS: 3:35 – Electric Six – Danger! High Voltage

It’s a double dose of “danger” this weekend at Corsairs Affairs! Earlier this year, you may have noticed that my buddy John was playing along with the 366 Times, Artists & Songs project in the comments. John made the tough choice to use a personal favorite – the Electric Six – early on in the game. With favorite bands, it can be awfully difficult to just pick one song; that’s an issue I will struggle with many, many times over the course of the year. I’m still not sure which way I want to go with one of my most treasured bands, in fact. But the good news is that there’s still lots of other great stuff to feature. Still, it’s nice to get a second go-round with an old favorite. I’m not sure what happened to John, but this one’s for him, wherever he might be.

Cool! I a) wanted to post a song that did not have a YouTube clip, b) got sucked into crunch time on a production of “A Midsummer Night’s Dream” (I was Theseus, Duke of Athens) over the past couple of weekends, and c) started writing about old Pirates games for the Pirates Prospects blog. But I have songs picked out through 4:00, so Imma try to catch up…

At 3:35, I’ve got one from the “Valley Girl” soundtrack, the Plimsouls “A Million Miles Away” (one of my favorite moments in PNC Park in-game entertainment was when the Pirates warmed up to this one before the top of the first a few years back…):

And if you can spare a trip to Pittsburgh on Saturday, July 28, I’m planning a birthday party at the Zenith on the South Side. There will be karaoke…
