366TAS: 3:30 – Modest Mouse – Float On

Back in 2004, Modest Mouse had their 15 minutes of fame, propelled by the success of “Float On” (and, to a much lesser extent, the Cingular commercial featuring, “Gravity Rides Everything”). Like a million other people, I really liked, “Float On,” but even though I wanted to like the rest of Modest Mouse’s work, they just never did anything for me. That’s OK though, we’ll always have our song, guys.

I’ve got a ’70s dance cut with “Rock ‘n’ Roll Pt. 2” drums: Polly Brown’s “Up In A Puff Of Smoke.”

For some reason my favorite Modest Mouse song is “Wild Packs of Family Dogs” (1:45). But if I had to pick a song for the (3:30) mark, it would be Crystal Castles – “Courtship Dating”.
