366TAS: 3:10 – Neko Case – Don’t Forget Me

Like so many others, the music editors at Amazon.com compile year-end best-of lists. For 2009, the album that topped their list was none other than Neko Case’s Middle Cyclone. I would have gone in a different direction, but the editors at Amazon could have done a lot worse. “Don’t Forget Me” might be my favorite track from the album; it’s just a beautiful song.

I’ve got “Natural One” by Folk Implosion, one of those semi-forgotten hits from the mid-1990s. A couple of years ago, someone made a mashup video by using the song as a soundtrack for clips from “The Natural,” one of my favorite movies from my childhood:

I’m torn on this choice because I would have gone with “Hold On, Hold On” (2:41) on her “Fox Confessor Brings The Flood” album or “This Tornado Loves You” (3:20), but this song is still very good.
