366TAS: 2:22 – Sam the Sham and the Pharaohs – Wooly Bully

For 2/2, it’s a 2:22 tune that topped out at #2 on the Billboard charts, yet was named Billboard’s “Number One Record of the Year.” This notable feat wouldn’t be matched until it happened two years in a row, starting in the year 2000. Ruining the two theme, “Wooly Bully” was the first of just three songs (to date) to attain this distinction, the others being Faith Hill’s “Breathe” and Lifehouse’s “Hanging By A Moment.” I don’t anticipate that any of these songs or artists will merit mention again all year, but fun trivia nevertheless!
