One of the cool things about going to concerts is stopping by the merchandise booth. Sometimes you’ll find cool and unexpected stuff, like this sweet laundry bag I scored when Stereolab was in town. Sometimes, you’ll see the artists themselves stop by the booth post-show to sell stuff, sign autographs and mingle with fans. A vinyl copy of The Polyphonic Spree’s Together We’re Heavy signed by Tim DeLaughter? Yes please!
Well go to a Marnie Stern show and you could get all that and more. Back in 2009, she would swing by the merch booth after her shows to set up a kissing booth. From the reports, not many folks took her up on the offer, but hey she gets points for originality! … and apparently a brief ESPN.com chat session, of all the random things. Now I know three things about Marnie Stern: she can shred on guitar, she’s not above running a kissing booth, and she’s a Mets fan. Ah well, two out of three ain’t bad!
