366TAS: 1:53 – The Magnetic Fields – Washington, D.C.

In the near future, I’m going to branch out and write about something besides music on this here blog. With the upcoming Baseball Hall of Fame voting coming up, I’m rather certain that I’ll at least be going in that direction very soon. Eventually though, I’m going to get around to writing about my current hometown, Washington, DC. There are plenty of things that make DC great and plenty of things that make DC suck, but before we get to my take on things, take a listen to what the Magnetic Fields have to say about my fair town (even if they won’t say it to our face!). Suffice to say, we don’t share a common favorite thing about the city.

I’ll offer a song conceived in my current town, Guided By Voices’ “The Unsinkable Fats Domino,” which they performed on Letterman the other night.

ha! that was my other choice for this time… I nearly went with it simply to post the video of the bass player falling on his ass in the middle of the performance…
